The Unseen Influence
When people take my Channeling Healing Energy workshops, it’s always a beautiful thing to see the surprise on their faces when they realize for the first time that they can feel someone walk into their energy field – and that they can feel it happening more than 10 feet away from their body.
With little difficulty, most people can learn to tune into the subtle shifts in their field caused by the influence of others. The more sensitive in the group even report a feeling of pressure against them and more rapid breathing as they feel the person approach – even though their eyes are closed during the exercise.
We are energy beings living in a sea of energy, and as such, we exert a profound influence upon one another. For example, women who share a home as roommates eventually find that their menses cycles synchronize.
It’s said that over time, life partners start to look like each other. We are energy that is capable of great change, depending on the state of our consciousness. Even our DNA is affected by thought (read Dr. Bruce Lipton’s book, “The Biology of Belief” for more on the subject).
In her book, “Why People Don’t Heal, and How They Can”, Caroline Myss talks about energy leaking from our fields to others when we think about them. She counsels her readers to be careful of spending too much time worrying about other people, because it depletes our energy and provides them with energy they should be finding for themselves. Those readers who have a companion who is a constant complainer, who leaves them feeling worn out after a conversation, know what I mean.
Aware of the influence our field has on others, we can choose consciously what thoughts and actions to take to protect our field from leakage and offer loving energy to others.
Taking the following steps will ensure your vitality and generate a calm environment around you:
1. Whenever you encounter something stressful, let the energy of it drop down your body and out through the energy centers in the soles of your feet. That way, the energy can be recycled by the Earth.
2. Draw universal energy into your body through your feet and the crown of your head, meeting at the heart, to ensure your vitality. Do this whenever you feel anxious, angry or fatigued.
3. If you encounter someone who is in a bad mood, having drawn that universal energy in, send it back out to that individual with love. If they’re having a bad day, they deserve your compassion. This action also protects you from energy loss, since engaging in negative emotion creates fatigue.
4. Be here NOW. When your thoughts wander into the past or become anxious about the future, your energy is not available to you in the present moment. Come back to where you are and just work with what’s in front of you.
5. Quit worrying about your loved ones. You have no control over their karma. Their path is their path. Instead, project a feeling of confidence in their strength, their ability to cope, and if it’s your children, their ability to use the tools you’ve given them to get through life. Even the youngest child does not benefit from worry. Having an anxious parent just makes them worry too, and lose confidence in themselves. Bless them and gradually let them go, with love. Their soul has chosen their path. Trust it.
6. Sometimes, people ask me how to protect themselves against psychic attack. There are really only two emotions operating in the world – love and fear. Someone who attacks you does so because they think you’re a threat. Love truly does conquer all. Bless them, send them love, and free yourself from the trap of giving back as good as you get. It only lowers your vibration to react to attack with fear or anger. Stay in a higher vibration so you can offer a lifeline to those who are in fear but looking for a way out.
We as a species are shifting paradigms, moving out of an age built on fear, needing to believe in the security of material goods. We are evolving into a species vibrating in love, becoming a community built on spirit, sharing, and mutual strength and well-being. How you choose to resonate your energy now will determine how easily you move into the new paradigm. Namaste.
Three Aspects Spread
In this spread that I created using the Psychic Tarot, I want to look at three key aspects of a particular situation. With that situation in mind, I shuffle and select three cards. After examining the cards, I then shuffle and select three more to place below the original three as indicators of actions that need to be taken in regard to the three aspects above.
In the example above, I am examining a querent’s relationship and how it will be affected by changes in the querent’s work life. The first card indicates that this person is facing difficult choices that may positively or negatively affect their relationship. The second card indicates that the work involved will yield financial rewards. The third card shows that the querent may find themselves propelled into a new world of experience through promotion or some other form of recognition.
The cards below indicate that a loving relationship may arise out of the choices being made. The question is whether that will be with the current partner or another one met through the new work situation. This is dependent on the cards that follow. The second card suggests that the querent will move forward in a positive new direction. It is the third card which gives us pause, realizing that all of this acceleration forward may leave the current relationship in the dust, thus creating mental conflict for the querent.
When a clear choice between aspects makes itself evident, we can select two or more cards for each possible option. In this case, we look at staying with the current relationship or leaving. Notice that with such a dramatic decision to make, we just happen to select two major arcana cards. This is not deliberate, but it’s a natural result of looking at dramatically life-changing possibilities.
In this case, staying suggests the possibility of nurturing a long-term relationship. The softer, feminine aspects of caring and mothering arise here, indicating a partnership that is comfortable and comforting.
On the other hand, choosing to leave means going for the more masculine, action-oriented path of recognizing one’s own authority, standing on one’s own two feet and discovering personal power through self-actualization. This path can be gratifying but potentially lonely.
As you can see, there is no clear, correct choice, as is sometimes the case with the Tarot. We are shown clearly the various aspects of a situation so that we can make a more educated and intuitive decision. Either way, in this case, there are benefits and drawbacks for either option. The querent needs to determine whether it behooves them to accentuate their feminine aspect or masculine in their choice of emphasis on partner or career.
Introspective Spread Using the Psychic Tarot
Below is a spread I created, using John Holland’s Psychic Tarot deck. It’s useful for examining where you are at the present moment at the conscious and subconscious level and where that moment is taking you.
In this spread, we start with the central card, depicting the querent in the present moment. In this case, the individual is ready to move forward in their life, possibly leaving present relationships, jobs, or locations behind. There’s a restlessness to pursue new avenues and make dramatic changes in life.
The card to the upper left shows what enslaves the person to their present situation. In this case, material success – either having a secure position now or focusing too much on financial security – is holding the querent back from embracing new challenges and opportunities, despite the desire to explore new avenues.
The card to the upper right shows what frees the person to embrace the desires of the present moment. In this case, a relationship offers the encouragement to move forward. This may be in the form of a significant other, a friend, or a business relationship. Such encouragement may come in the form of direct encouragement or it may be indirect as in the case of a relationship that is troubling, which provides the impetus to create change.
The card to the lower left shows the shadow, that part of the person that has been hidden until now, but contains the power needed to embrace change. In this case, the querent has the ability to create prosperity but doesn’t fully realize that it’s in them to do so. There is likely fear around taking responsibility for doing so. Often, looking at our shadow involves facing our fears in order to liberate the power that lies within our hidden selves. It may also be a pattern for the querent to be reliant on others rather than face growing up and having to maintain themselves. This suggests an aspect of the Self that is frozen in childhood and needs to be acknowledged and embraced in order to assist its growth and evolution toward adulthood.
The card to the lower right shows the light, that aspect that will aid in the querent’s healing, that energy which offers gentle help and nurturing in the process. It balances out the shadow, which often involves the harsh, gritty work of personal growth. In this case, the card is suggesting that the introspection required to acknowledge the shadow needs to be conducted during a time of rest, that the querent cannot continue to keep busy in order to avoid taking responsibility for the work that needs to be done. The challenge for the querent is to be willing to take a rest, even if it triggers the fear of lack of security. This person may need to accept less work for a time in order to do the internal work necessary for change. In a western society that values tangible results, such a rest period is not always valued, thus posing a challenge for the querent.
The bottom card shows the outcome should the querent meet the challenges of the preceding cards. In this case, addressing the issues at hand will help this person to know their own strength and power, discovering that the resources they needed have been waiting within all along.
I welcome comments on this spread, and I look forward to hearing how this spread works for you.
Getting the Most out of Your Call to a Psychic
Image from Stock Xchng
Einstein said that one cannot change a situation from the same state of mind that created it. This is something I try to communicate to my clients. In some cases, this is difficult.
Occasionally, I get a caller who just wants to know if so-and-so is thinking about them or if that person will call them again. Incidentally, if you haven’t heard from him in six months, he’s just not that into you. Sometimes, I get a caller who wants a McReading and just wants a “yes or no” answer. These are the same people who will tell a psychic when one tries to give them some actual insight into their situation that they don’t want to waste their time or money.
Its unfortunate when people shortchange themselves by not allowing the psychic they call to give them useful information. They want their quick answer and will hang up on you in a jiffy if we don’t tell them what they want to hear. There are a lot of us in this business who know what we’re doing and really want to help the caller. These rude and impatient folks are so worried about getting ripped off that they actually create that scenario for themselves.
We’d prefer to take the time to help you understand that if there was something going on in your relationship in the past that caused the rift, then something needs to change to mend it. What these callers don’t seem to realize is that if they haven’t changed, no good can come out of seeing that person again. If you haven’t learned how to give or receive love and respect, it’s really unimportant where that person is at. You are in charge of your life and what you draw into it. You actually have tremendous power to make great changes to your life – and we can help, if you’ll let us.
How can you get the most out of a psychic reading? Listen to the whole story. So, what happens if that guy is going to call in six months? Will you be ready for him? What have you done since you last spoke to him that helped you to grow as a person? If this guy is all that, and you weren’t able to keep that reflection in your life for whatever reason, then it stands to reason that you have work to do on your own development in order to attract him or someone like him into your life.
What you really have with a good psychic reading is an opportunity to understand yourself better and learn exactly what you can change and how in order to bring joy and love into your world. It’s not our job as psychics to provide pat answers to soothe the angst of the caller. It’s our job to empower you to create the life you want. We can pick up on subconscious behaviour patterns that cause you to make poor choices in your life. We can tell you why you’ve been making those choices, what the survival mechanism is that prompts you to limit yourself, and we can help you overcome these patterns and attract great people and situations. We can point out probable outcomes and help you work toward them if they’re favourable or shift away from them if they’re not. When I get a clear glimpse of a future event for a caller, it’s my job to explain to them how to get there. There is no moving from Point A to Point B without understanding the journey from one to the other.
What you have in a good psychic is a partnership. We’ll tell you the truth about your life, but it’s your job to hear that truth and make the changes that will bring you what you want. Sure I can say that the guy of your dreams will call, but will you be ready for him?
The Age of the Instant Answer
Image from Stock Xchng
We’re obsessed with knowing our future. We want to know that the voyage on which we’re embarking will lead us safely to a preconceived destination. We don’t mind getting on the horse, provided he heads to the barn of our choice on the road we’ve selected.
Yet, when we really give it some thought, knowing where we’re headed defeats the purpose of taking the journey in the first place. I believe there are two types of people: those who want an instant answer that will make them feel better so they can stop worrying about the future, and those who understand that they’re creating their future, so it can’t be completely known ahead of time. With the latter, in my work as a psychic, I can help clients create such a positive state of thought that regardless of the journey and the destination, they will eventually arrive at a place of greater joy than they can comprehend from the present situation.
When we understand that we create our future, we can welcome adversity as a teacher. We can harness the law of attraction to draw to us what will give us joy. Then the role of a psychic becomes that of mediator between the conscious and subconscious mind of the client, pointing out patterns of thought and behaviour that hold them back from reaching their goal, and making them aware of suppressed feelings that need to be brought to light so that a greater understanding of the self and one’s needs can be attained.
Psychics can see future probabilities, but it only takes a change in perspective, a new decision, or a particular action or reaction to cause one probability to come to fruition over another. I’ve had clients come to me in a very low state, with nobody in their lives who seemed to contribute positively to their experience, and with no options apparent to them that could help them change their life for the better. In one session, I’ve seen these same people shift so dramatically that they begin meeting uplifting people the next day and new opportunities present themselves almost immediately. This isn’t magic on my part, but the determination of my clients to work with the information I give them. This causes a dramatic internal shift, which then affects their external reality.
Currently, humankind is undergoing an accelerated evolutionary process. Where it used to take months or years for a thought to become manifest in physical reality, today the change is almost instantaneous. This means that people who are willing to do the inner work see results in their outer world very quickly.
So those of us who want instant solutions need to realize that the answer always lies with us. If we are willing to walk the hero’s journey of self-discovery, if we gladly embrace all of life’s challenges, we will move toward greater joy and fulfillment in our lives. The role of the psychic is to make clear the path to a better life. The rest is up to you.

Tarot Card of the Day – Queen of Pentacles
The Aquatic Tarot. Author/Artist: ©Andreas Schröter 1995-2002
Got your eye on some special Christmas goodies? At this time of year, we get a thrill at the thought of what might lie under the tree to be opened on Christmas Day. Either that, or we’re already getting our list together for the Boxing Day sales.
The Queen of Pentacles is all about the bling. She’s focused on having and acquiring the good things in the material realm. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to enjoy the riches that the earth has for us. In fact, it’s part of our experience as humans in the physical realm to experience sensual pleasure. However, we must balance satisfaction of our desires with the needs of others and of our planet.
Take time to find simple ways to thrill your sensual self, whether that is in taking time with your loved ones, going for a walk in the woods, or enjoying a good meal. Take what you will to enjoy yourself, but be sure to give back too. The queen cards also represent the maternal, so remember to take care of the ultimate mother – Earth – and find ways to give back to her at the same time that you enjoy her treasures.
